How do I credit a soldier after-the-fact for pulling a duty he was not originally scheduled to pull?

The Hey You! feature lets you select a soldier for a particular duty after the fact, and then ensure that he gets credit for pulling the duty.

Just as an exemption excuses a soldier from a particular duty, a Hey You! entry forces a soldier to pull a particular duty.

Hey You! entries take priority over everyone and everything else on a roster. It does not matter if the Hey You! soldier just pulled duty yesterday (according to AutoDutyPRO?s historical database), has the lowest sequence number, is on leave, or is not even eligible for the roster! Regardless, his name will show up in the slot he will be selected for duty.

To enter a Hey You! entry,

1. Click the Lists menu, Hey You! icon.

2. In the Find Name field, start typing the first few characters of the soldier?s last name until his full name is shown, or select him from the dropdown list.

3. Click the New button.
4. Type-in the date of duty, or select the date from the pop-up calendar.
5. Select the roster from the dropdown list.
6. Select the role from the dropdown list.
7. Optional: type-in a comment (it only shows up on reports).
8. Click the Save changes button, and then the Close button.

When you finish adding the Hey You! entry, you need to recalc the roster to which the Hey You! applies; your recalc period needs to include the duty date of the Hey You!.

For example, you have done the roster for October, but had a Hey You! situation for 25 OCT 2011. Add the Hey You!, and then recalc the October roster, but only from the date of the change; i.e., 25 OCT 2011 to 31 OCT 2011.

This will actually "give the soldier" the credit; i.e., when the recalc completes, you will have an updated memorandum and DA Form 6 showing the soldier selected for duty, but also carrying the sequence number forward for the soldier who was originally scheduled to pull the duty.

If you have already calculated the NOV roster, this will be affected by the recalc, and AutoDutyPRO will let you know -- that roster needs to be recalculated as well.
