How do I email the memorandum?

AutoDutyPRO does not directly support emailing the memorandum in the current version, but it CAN be done.

One method is to install the virtual PDF printer, described here.

The other option is to change the action that AutoDutyPRO takes when you click on the KEEP THIS DA6 button. Instead of having the memorandum automatically sent to the printer, you can change the action to "SAVE TO FILE" or "VIEW".

If you select the "VIEW" action, the memorandum will come up in Word (on your office computer), and at that point you can SAVE to file, print it out, and/or email the document. All of these are directly supported by Microsoft Word.

To change the action:

1. Click in the DUTY ROSTERS section, and then click the MEMORANDUMS icon.

2. Highlight the roster you want to do this for, and click the EDIT MEMORANDUM PROPERTIES button at the bottom.

3. On the next window that comes up, click on the ACTION tab, and make your change there. Be sure to click SAVE CHANGES.

Also, if you do a reprint of the memorandum (TOOLS section, REPORTS icon), AutoDutyPRO presents you with a list of choices that includes "VIEW" and "SAVE TO FILE".

The next version of AutoDutyPRO (v5) will support a direct-to-email feature for the memorandum.

If this doesn't make sense, or you have further questions regarding this procedure, please contact us.
