How do I transfer AutoDutyPRO data from an old profile to a new profile?

On the old computer, be sure that you have a current backup of AutoDutyPRO stored onto removable media (CD, flash drive) or to a network location. The backup should be reachable from the new computer/profile, once it is setup.

To create a backup:

1. In AutoDutyPRO, click the TOOLS section, and then choose the BACKUP DATA icon.

2. Browse to a location to store the backup file. The name of the backup will be in the format of 'unit name - date' with an extension of abk.

On the new computer, be sure you have installed the latest version of the software and unlocked it, according to the instruction in our Administrator/Installer Guide.

Once those steps are completed, the end-user should be able to login, start AutoDutyPRO, and restore their data.

To restore the backup:

1. In AutoDutyPRO, click the TOOLS section, and then scroll down and choose the RESTORE DATA icon.

2. Browse to the location were the backup file was saved in the prior steps. The name of the backup will be in the format of 'unit name - date' with an extension of abk.

3. Select the backup file, then proceed with the restore. After the backup file has been restored, exit AutoDutyPRO, skip making a backup at this time, and then restart the program.

4. Verify the data was restored by looking at the various lists (LISTS -> UNIT ALPHA ROSTER, etc.).
